Job Title: Set-Up Lead

Job Summary:
Qualigence is seeking a highly skilled Set-Up Lead to join our team. As a Set-Up Lead, you will be responsible for leading set-ups to completion, utilizing machine operators and other resources to get the job done in the shortest amount of time possible. You will also be responsible for kit jobs on carts, updating set-up sheets, troubleshooting machine issues, and performing visual part checks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead set-ups to completion, utilizing machine operators and other resources to get the job done in the shortest amount of time possible.
  • Kit jobs on carts, ensuring that tools, fixtures, and gauges are properly organized and easily accessible.
  • Update set-up sheets in the set-up binder before teardowns, ensuring that all necessary information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues as needed, working with maintenance to resolve problems and minimize downtime.
  • Perform visual part checks at each work center, at least two times per shift, to ensure that parts meet quality standards.
  • Review machine operator stats for your area of responsibility, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Check cycle-times on machines daily, making adjustments as necessary to optimize production.
  • Make improvements to set-ups and cycle-times, working with the team to implement changes and improve overall efficiency.
  • Perform machine operator training and hourly checks, ensuring that all operators are properly trained and equipped to perform their jobs.
  • Move people to priority machines and keep them staffed, ensuring that production is running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Determine machine operators' capabilities using the 3, 6, 9, 11-week evaluation sheets prior to being hired.
  • Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly checks on machines are being performed, and that all necessary maintenance is up-to-date.
  • Ensure weekly/monthly machine PMs are being performed, and that all necessary repairs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Identify drill/tapping heads that need repaired and coordinate with maintenance, ensuring that all necessary repairs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Identify pumps and motors that need repaired or replaced due to leaks or bearing issues and coordinate with maintenance.

Requirements:
*Must have metal cutting machining experience
*Ability to work cross-functionally
*Strong computer skills (MS Office, etc.)
