About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead a team of engineers in the development, validation, and support of sensors for application on Cat engines and machines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of the product line, including designs from research, concept, production to end of life, including cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Develop and execute product, sourcing, and life cycle management strategies.
  • Manage development of new products by leveraging research processes (TRL) L1/L2 NPI, and APQP processes for specification, sourcing, design & process verification, and production launch.
  • Collaborate with a global supply base, purchasing, product support, parts marketing, electronic system & sub-system teams, aftermarket solutions, machine and engine product groups.
  • Assist with the development and execution of product, sourcing, and life cycle management strategies.
  • Manage project leadership of continuous improvement projects (quality & cost).
Requirements
  • Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
  • Effective Communications: Reviews others' writing or presentations and provides feedback and coaching.
  • Relationship Management: Communicates to clients regarding expectations of all parties.
  • Technical Excellence: Advises others on the assessment and provision of all technical solutions.
  • Project Management: Utilizes preferred tools, techniques and methods for estimating project cost and time.
  • Electronics Engineering: Anticipates the challenges and opportunities associated with creating printed circuit boards.
  • Mechanical Engineering: Coaches others on most aspects of mechanical engineering related to electronics in harsh vibration, thermal, and sealing environments.
  • Supplier Management: Facilitates supplier partnering arrangements that share risk and reward.
  • Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Evaluates business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of needed resolution.
