Senior Fund Accountant Opportunity

About the Position:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Fund Accountant to enhance our team within the Real Estate and Investment Management sector. This is a permanent role that offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing flexibility between remote work and in-office collaboration. As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will be instrumental in overseeing and managing Fund Accounting transactions, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) through meticulous analysis and review of financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all functions related to Fund Accounting.
- Execute month-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely completion of accounting tasks.
- Prepare client billing and conduct accurate account reconciliations.
- Assess computerized accounting systems and suggest enhancements to the IT department.
- Generate financial reports and statements for managerial review.
- Investigate financial discrepancies and propose effective solutions.
- Monitor expenditures, analyze revenues, and report budget variances to management.
- Address accounting inquiries from management promptly.
- Assist in budget preparation and expense management for assigned accounts.
- Support auditing activities by providing necessary documentation.
- Conduct periodic reviews for compliance with insurance, tax, VAT, and other regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in accounting or a similar field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting best practices and financial management.
- Familiarity with fund accounting, month-end closing, reconciliations, and foreign exchange calculations.
- Experience with Yardi or similar software is essential.
- Able to thrive in a hybrid work environment, both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical aptitude.
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining focus on individual project details.
- Commitment to meeting deadlines and adhering to confidentiality guidelines.
- Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are advantageous.
