About the Position

The Santa Cruz Warriors are seeking a part-time Merchandise Associate to join our team. As a Merchandise Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and sales support in our retail store and merchandise trailer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and Assist Customers: Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing them with information about our merchandise and services.
  • Direct Customers: Escort customers to racks and counters to ensure they find what they need.
  • Make Sales and Provide Recommendations: Help customers make selections by building their confidence and offering suggestions and opinions on merchandise and purchases.
  • Manage Inventory and Fulfill Online Orders: Check inventory regularly to maintain a fully stocked store front and trailer, and fulfill online orders in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Process Sales and Returns: Process sales, exchanges, and returns on our point-of-sale system.
  • Meet Sales Goals: Consistently meet sales goals and contribute to the success of our retail operations.
Required Experience and Skills
  • Customer Service Experience: Minimum 6 months of public-facing customer service/sales experience.
  • Math Skills and Cash Handling: General math skills and cash handling experience.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent and engaging interpersonal skills.
  • High Energy and Attention to Detail: High energy, strong detail orientation, and superior work ethic.
  • Multitasking and Organization: Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Positive Interactions: Ability to interact positively with internal and external staff, fans, and clients.
  • Professionalism: Ability to remain professional around high-profile individuals.
Physical Demands
  • Lifting and Mobility: Ability to push/pull/carry and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Standing and Mobility: Ability to climb stairs, sit, turn, bend, and stand for long periods of time.
Time Commitment
  • Home Games: Committed to work the majority of home games - 24 regular season games and playoffs.
  • Shifts and Scheduling: 4-hour shifts on game days, typically 5:00pm to 9:00pm. During the preseason, you will work the retail store Saturday and Sunday. During home games, you will work in the merchandise trailer directly outside the arena.
Compensation
  • Hourly Rate: $16.00 per hour.
