Position Summary
Ensure precise inventory levels, reduce stock discrepancies, and protect company resources by performing routine inventory assessments, applying loss prevention strategies, and reconciling through necessary adjustments. Deliver comprehensive insights into the causes of inventory discrepancies and provide actionable recommendations to avert future variances. Serve as a key point of communication regarding inventory matters and trends among the warehouse, Operations Manager, and Purchasing team.
Key Responsibilities: The following duties are essential and may include additional tasks as required to meet operational needs.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7 AM - 3:30 PM
Compensation: $20/hour
- Facilitate and execute daily cycle counts as outlined by the ERP system.
- Conduct audits and investigate sources of known inventory losses.
- Monitor stock levels to detect theft or shortages.
- Identify, propose, and implement strategies to reduce inventory loss.
- Resolve inventory discrepancies in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Provide a daily variance report to management detailing discrepancies with associated dollar values prior to posting cycle counts.
- Communicate and develop process improvements as necessary; perform root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and suggest enhancements to prevent future issues.
- Collaborate with key personnel to effectively implement operational improvements aimed at optimizing overall location and item-level accuracy while maintaining high productivity levels.
- Research, recommend, and implement additional security measures.
- Conduct regular evaluations of video surveillance systems.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures to deter theft at points of sale or inventory storage areas.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in inventory management within a distribution environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic mathematical proficiency.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to operate equipment such as Forklifts and Order Pickers (Training Provided).
Physical Requirements and Work Environment: The conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.
Positions in this role may require lifting objects up to 15 lbs and standing or walking for extended periods. Operation of machinery may also be necessary.
