Senior Estimator Position

E-Frontiers, a prominent player in the General Contracting sector, is on the lookout for a skilled Senior Estimator to manage current and future project demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive quantity take-offs, evaluations, estimates, and analyses for all components within the designated scope.
  • Executing constructability assessments by identifying design and construction challenges.
  • Implementing value engineering strategies by proposing cost-effective alternatives to the outlined scope.
  • Acting as a point of contact between subcontractors and the design team, including architects, engineers, and consultants.
  • Developing detailed estimates for the entire scope of assigned trades, building systems, and overall project expenses.
  • Compiling and organizing bids and proposals for various contract types such as lump sum, GMP, and Cost Plus.
  • Reviewing all contract documents (plans, specifications, etc.) to identify any necessary scope not explicitly stated.
  • Assessing existing site conditions or construction sequences, logistics, and phasing requirements to uncover any unmentioned scope.
  • Generating Requests for Information (RFIs) and responding to inquiries.
  • Participating in Scope Reconciliation Meetings with fellow Estimators to address scope discrepancies.
  • Preparing scope and leveling sheets for designated trades.
  • Evaluating subcontractor proposals to ensure coverage of their scope of work and managing the risk of scope gaps.
  • Engaging with subcontractors to finalize scope details.
  • Collaborating with operations staff and fellow Estimators to ensure that general conditions and requirements are accurately reflected in the estimate.
  • Potentially collaborating with the preconstruction team in project development or pursuing new opportunities.
  • Overseeing Assistant Estimators and/or Interns as assigned, including conducting performance evaluations.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree along with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and their installation procedures, characteristics, and tolerances.
  • Ability to interpret and understand general contracts, subcontract documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in computer applications, including the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
