About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at Consigli Construction Co., Inc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimate complex and large-scale construction projects, including conceptual estimates, negotiated bids, budgets, and value engineering.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects.
  • Build relationships with clients, designers, and subcontractors to understand their needs and expectations.
  • Effectively communicate with all stakeholders and facilitate collaboration amongst team members.
  • Participate in business development activities, presentations, and interviews.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs, apply unit pricing for material and labor, and establish a value for the work.
  • Understand the full scope of the project through document review and asking questions of the design team and owner.
  • Prepare value engineering and risk analysis, and ensure quality control of bids and estimates.
  • Manage subcontractor solicitation and selection process, and prepare Exhibit B and/or scope sheets.
  • Ensure an in-house budget and GMP are prepared, and conduct contract performance reviews with junior estimators.

Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Engineering or Construction Management with a minimum of 3 years' experience in estimating.
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • 8+ years' experience in construction, and 3-5+ years' experience as a construction estimator.
  • Persistent in specialized estimating software.
  • Understanding of the influence of market conditions on pricing.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, and a highly developed sense of professional ethics.
  • Ability to work both on a team and independently, and communicate effectively with tact and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and create efficiencies, and high attention to detail.
