About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven individual to join our team at Carolina Sunrock as a Plant Utility Person. This role involves performing general housekeeping and maintenance tasks on our Asphalt Plant, with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will be required to climb on towers and work in closed confined spaces, demonstrating good judgment and common sense in all duties and tasks assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, reporting any unsafe conditions or actions to a supervisor or Manager Safety & Health.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to Sunrock's standards and regulations, as well as MSHA and OSHA guidelines.
  • Operate and perform routine maintenance on quarry plant equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Perform basic labor functions, such as cleaning, lifting, shoveling, and climbing heights up to 70 feet, with a focus on safety and productivity.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of quarry equipment and plant operations, enabling effective troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Accurately create daily production reports, meet production schedules, and assist in other areas of the quarry as needed.
  • Maintain the daily cleanliness of the plant, including equipment and surrounding areas.
  • Perform daily pre-shift and post-shift inspections of the work area and plant equipment, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Assist with daily plant adjustments and maintenance tasks, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and teamwork.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management, contributing to the overall success of the team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • No prior experience is necessary, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential.
  • Current North Carolina Driver's License required.
