Maintenance Technician

Nokian Tyres is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production facilities and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in installations and start-up assistance for new equipment and modifications
- Identify opportunities for improving efficiency and quality standards
- Assist in finding and implementing corrective actions from customer rejections
- Communicate with other shifts, operators, and technicians to share equipment status updates
- Interpret blueprints and schematics to implement maintenance methods and practices
- Perform preventive, predictive, project, and reactive maintenance as required
- Conduct routine diagnostic checks on automated systems and equipment to collect performance data
- React quickly to equipment downtime, evaluate trouble through effective troubleshooting, and execute repairs to restore equipment to safe and efficient operation
- Communicate equipment repair and recovery information to management and operations personnel
- Maintain accurate service records to monitor equipment performance
- Input work order and equipment repair data into the maintenance management system
- Rebuild, repair, and reassemble machines and equipment
- Communicate required spare parts to management
- Maintain certification to perform exceptional maintenance work
- Engage in personal performance to achieve and retain high-performance standards
- Possess knowledge of industrial maintenance systems, equipment controls, and safety circuits
- Working knowledge and ability to troubleshoot Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC
- Willingness to attend formal training courses to learn PLC programming
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, excellent visual skills, and above basic mathematical skills and reasoning ability
- Knowledge of OSHA Requirements, including electrical safety, machine guarding, confined space, and lockout/tagout procedures
- Basic working knowledge of computer software and MS Office
- Experience with operating forklifts
- Ability to operate with speed and accuracy
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings
- Demonstrate team spirit, flexibility, and a positive attitude as an active team contributor
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills and the ability to recognize and escalate issues when necessary
- Ability to successfully complete pre-hire basic skills tests and assessments
- Ability to pass pre-employment background checks, physical exams, and drug screenings
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate degree from an accredited community, technical, or vocational college preferred
- 1-2 years of multi-craft experience in a manufacturing environment
- Lean/process improvement tools experience and/or interest in advancing knowledge in this area
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position throughout assigned working hours
- Frequent reaching, grasping, bending, and stooping
- Must be able to tolerate odors from raw materials, freshly cured tires, and hot materials
- Frequent pulling and/or pushing up to 20 lbs independently, and occasional pushing and/or pulling up to 35 lbs independently, and greater weights with mechanical automation assistance
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 20 lbs independently, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 lbs independently, and greater weights with mechanical automation assistance
- Must be able to frequently engage in repetitive motions requiring substantial movement of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers
- Adequate vision to read work instructions, job aids, and guides, and detect imperfections in raw materials, tooling, and finished product
- Ability to work in an environment with limited climate control and varied temperature levels
- Must be able to communicate effectively in an environment with continual noise, requiring the ability to hear, understand, and communicate work instructions and directions while wearing company-provided hearing protection
- Must be able to be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, and vibration
- Must be willing and able to work a 12-hour shift (days or nights)
