Cake Decorator Specialist

Job Summary:We're seeking a skilled Cake Decorator to join our team. As a Cake Decorator, you'll be responsible for icing cakes, specialty orders, and cakes for the house, as well as training new cake icers and retraining existing ones on new or seasonal products. You'll uphold the core values of the organization and consistently present and promote brand integrity, product quality, and customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and work within Magnolia standards, including color palette, cake design, and quality.
- Trim, assemble, ice, fill, and finish cake layers with inscriptions and decorations.
- Prepare and tint icings and other necessary items for decorating or special events and orders.
- Ensure quality control of product before putting it out for sale.
- Keep work areas neat, equipment cleaned, and prepared for use.
- Enforce safe food handling practices and follow safety procedures for using equipment and cleaning supplies.
- Operate and monitor proper functioning of equipment, following safety procedures.
- Maintain your own icer's kit.
- Assist in training new cake icers and retraining existing ones as needed.
- Aid in organizing and enforcing proper station set-up for all shifts.
- Execute all prep items from the prep baker position.
- Maintain and enforce finished product specs, standards, and quality.
- Position requires standing and walking for 3-5 hours without a rest break.
- Frequent use of hands.
- Occasional climbing, stooping, bending, reaching, kneeling, or crouching.
- Occasional moderate to heavy (10+lb) lifting and carrying.
- Work environment includes working with hot cooking equipment.
- Approximately 40-45 hours of work per week.
- 6-12 months of experience with cake decorating.
- Knowledge and use of cake decorating equipment, tools, icings, ingredients, etc.
- Hands-on, flexible, and highly responsive.
- Strong communication skills.
- Reading and writing skills.
- Ability to handle high stress and volume.
- High energy, positive person who can work with a diverse group of people.
- Follower of policies and procedures.
- Ability to take directions well and hit the ground running.
- Understanding of expectations of role and working within boundaries.
- Organized with good time management skills.

Hourly Pay Range: $17-$20
