Job Summary: We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our team at Carlisle Companies. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and installing capital equipment and facilities, from specification to cost control. This role will provide engineering expertise to aid the plant engineering and maintenance department, process/development engineering, and/or operating departments in solving technical problems. The Project Engineer will apply mechanical/electrical engineering principles to assigned project work, delivering overall piping and instrumentation and process designs to facility systems supporting manufacturing locations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Recommend, specify, and procure facilities and equipment for project implementation.
  • Size, calculate, and design facilities and equipment to ensure proper application.
  • Develop accurate cost estimates and schedules to control costs and ensure timely project completion.
  • Install and start up equipment, provide field supervision, and follow up to complete facilities in a timely manner.
  • Provide project documentation (Scope, budget, purchase orders, contracts, reports) to maintain good records and data for similar future projects.
  • Lead the deployment of best practice process improvement methodologies across the plant.
  • Ability to train and lead improvement activities with operators, maintenance personnel, and engineering department.
  • Introduce process improvements to maximize output, efficiency, and reduce cost.
  • Develop new systems to improve workflow.
  • Fix process defects.
  • Promote and practice safety and good housekeeping.
  • Supervise draftsmen, technicians, or engineers assigned to projects as required.
  • Travel to vendor facilities to evaluate their technical capabilities.
  • Develop, execute, and support multiple plant projects.

Working Conditions:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to do one or more of the following, separately and/or together: stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms, read, write, talk and hear. Travel is required up to 50% of the time.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical/chemical/electrical engineering, or equivalent, required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in chemical/paint processing, batching, storage and mixing systems, required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a complex, high-volume manufacturing environment is preferred.
