Position Overview:

As a dedicated In-Home Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility, tailored to each individual's service plan.
  • Encouraging residents to maintain their independence by allowing them to participate in their own care.
  • Serving meals and assisting with meal preparation in accordance with pre-established menus.
  • Promoting healthy eating habits and hydration while respecting residents' choices, and documenting any changes in their dietary preferences.
  • Facilitating and engaging residents in leisure activities as outlined in the activity calendar, fostering social interactions and friendships.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records of residents' care, including medication administration, activities, and any notable changes in their health or behavior.
  • Assisting residents with medication management in compliance with established procedures and regulations.
  • Ensuring a clean, safe, and organized living environment through regular housekeeping duties.
  • Utilizing a Gait belt for safe transfers and mobility assistance.

Emergency Response:

Adhering to proper protocols during emergencies and responding promptly to residents' requests for assistance is crucial.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Commitment to health promotion and maintenance.
  • Ability to create a safe and effective living environment.
  • Strong motivational skills to encourage residents.
  • Knowledge of legal compliance in caregiving.
  • Excellent bedside manner and teamwork in a medical setting.
  • Understanding of mental health promotion and pain management.
  • Effective listening and analytical skills.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs and assisting with mobility.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • CPR/First Aid certification within 6-12 months of hire.
  • Home Care Registration.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in caregiving or related fields.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
