Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Holy Cross Family Practice. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for operating fluoroscopy equipment, acquiring images, and communicating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate fluoroscopy equipment to visualize patient conditions in real-time
  • Acquire high-quality images and send them to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS)
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care
  • Transport patients to and from procedural areas, admitting and recovery areas, and other areas within the hospital as needed
  • Assist with patient transfer to and from procedure tables and stretchers
  • Establish and maintain ongoing communication with physician operators throughout procedures to facilitate patient safety, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Administer contrast media under the direction of a physician
  • Recognize signs of a contrast reaction and respond appropriately with corrective action
  • Systematically review patient history and physical, lab values, prior imaging, and correlate invasive procedure protocol with patient physiological status
  • Communicate findings to physician operators and fellow team members
Requirements
  • Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved Diagnostic Radiology program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Able to respond on-site within 30 minutes when participating in the on-call rotation
  • Florida Licensed Radiologic Technologist, Radiography credentialing thru American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (R) (ARRT)
