Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in conducting cutting-edge research in the field of systems immunology and computational genomics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in areas related to project needs or in a designated field of science.
  • Plan, design, and conduct scientific experiments.
  • Analyze and interpret data.
  • Present research results and prepare research for publication.
  • Assist with the preparation, identification, and cataloging of information and specimens.
  • Conduct literature searches as needed.
  • Perform various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
  • Assist with development and execution of in vitro/in vivo studies involving cell therapies.
  • Collect and analyze experimental data, maintain detailed records of experiments and outcomes, and assist in the interpretation of experimental results using computational methods.
  • Train new laboratory personnel to ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the lab head and other researchers to coordinate and advance research projects. Assist in setting project goals, timelines, and priorities.
  • Contribute to the development, optimization, and implementation of laboratory protocols and procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of scientific reports, manuscripts, and presentations. Communicate effectively with the lab team, sharing progress, results, and challenges.
Requirements
  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experience.
  • Required: 24 months of related research experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate well and to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Knowledge of research methodologies and techniques.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of specialized terminology (e.g., scientific or technical).
  • Positive, pro-active and open-minded.
  • Great collaborative skills and service-minded.
  • Well organized and with an eye for details.
  • Excellent skills in documentation of laboratory work.
  • Very Good written and oral communication skills in English.
