Family Partner, Prevention ECMHC

At Eliot Community Human Services, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Partner to join our team. As a Family Partner, you will play a vital role in providing community-based support and education to parents/caregivers of children with special needs and/or behavioral health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide community-based support and education to parents/caregivers of children with special needs and/or behavioral health needs.
  • Work with the ECMHC staff, EEC program leadership, and educators to develop measurable Family Partner goals in the Individualized Service Delivery Plan.
  • Engage parents/caregivers in activities designed to address one or more goals/tasks on the Individualized Service Delivery Plan.
  • Assist parents/caregivers in meeting the needs of their child through educating, supporting, coaching, modeling, and guiding.
  • Teach parents/caregivers how to connect to community resources and communicate with providers.
  • Support parents/caregivers in advocating for services and resources to meet their child's needs.
  • Guide, support, and foster empowerment, including linkages to individual, peer/parent support, and self-help groups.
  • Participate in feedback meetings and transition planning.
  • Provide telephone support and outreach to parents/caregivers.
Qualifications:
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in a human services field with one (1) or more years of experience working with children and youth; or High School diploma/GED with two (2) years of experience.
  • Must be a parent, guardian, or caregiver of a youth with special needs, and/or behavioral health needs.
  • Experience in navigating child and family service systems and teaching families who are involved in those systems.
  • Ability to communicate with other parents in a supportive and non-judgmental manner regarding their needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with both professional and non-professionals and have the capacity to work effectively with the service provider community.
  • Ability to actively facilitate the development of local and community resources.
  • Bilingual and bicultural skills are a plus.
  • Additional language capacity and/or cultural diversity are highly desirable.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, full time

Pay: $21.63 hourly
