Housekeeping Attendant

To maintain the cleanliness and appearance of guest accommodations and public spaces, the Room Attendant will ensure they meet all brand or hotel standards in the rooms and public areas.
Duties and Responsibilities- Receive a list of assigned rooms from a supervisor and prioritize them based on direction from the supervisor or the list.
- Follow sign-in and sign-out procedures for keys to access rooms.
- Check the inventory of the cleaning cart and add any necessary supplies.
- Knock and announce yourself before entering a room, and return at a later time if the room is occupied.
- Notify the supervisor of any damage or strong odor in a room upon entry.
- Notify the supervisor of suspicious activity.
- Remove linens, towels, bedspreads, and blankets from each assigned room and provide fresh replacements, following the appropriate protocol for checkouts versus stayovers.
- Make beds neatly and stock towels, washcloths, and hand towels according to policies.
- Clean and disinfect the bathroom and kitchenette or coffee-preparation areas according to hotel policies.
- Disinfect all surfaces, including high-touch items, wall and lamp switches, thermostats, door handles, telephones, TV remotes, etc.
- Clean mirrors, glass, and dust pictures and other objects in the room.
- Vacuum floors and remove trash.
- Check complimentary coffee, snacks, and toiletry supplies in the room, restocking according to the hotel checklist and policy.
- Ensure the room meets hotel and brand standards with a final walkaround.
- Notify the supervisor of found items and bring them to the lost and found if the guest has checked out.
- Notify the supervisor of rollaways or cribs in rooms for pickup and storage.
- Notify the supervisor of room availability.
- Ensure soiled linens are provided to the laundry in a timely manner.
- Notify the maintenance department of needed maintenance or repairs based on hotel processes.
- Be detail-oriented and thorough.
- Be able to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests.
- Be able to perform consistent work to the highest standards.
- Be able to interact with guests in a pleasant and friendly way.
- Be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English, with other languages a plus.
- Have sufficient education and literacy to identify and read product labels and communicate with guests about job-related needs.
- Be flexible and work weekends, holidays, and any days of the week, with weekends required.
