As a Senior Construction Cost Estimator, you will play a vital role in our Litigation and Damages team by creating precise construction cost estimates that are essential for the assessment and preparation of construction defect litigation claims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed cost estimates for repair scopes based on engineering assessments, focusing on areas such as cladding, framing, foundation, flatwork, civil, roofing, and interior work for reconstruction projects.
- Analyze and price repair recommendations provided by Engineers or Architects, ensuring accuracy in addressing alleged construction and design deficiencies.
- Interpret building codes relevant to repair scopes and pricing, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Utilize On-Screen Takeoff for quantifying repair scopes and employ Xactimate / RS Means for researching unit pricing associated with the scope of work.
- Solicit and evaluate quotations and proposals from subcontractors and vendors, ensuring alignment with the proposed scope of work.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation regarding the basis for estimates.
- Examine construction plans, documents, and contracts to delineate party responsibilities and allocate cost estimates to those accountable for the alleged defects.
- Collaborate with the project team in drafting sections of the expert report.
- Conduct periodic site inspections to document as-built conditions.
- Represent The Vertex Companies, LLC professionally during on-site inspections and meetings.
