Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Baseball Coach and Groundskeeper to join our team at Salt Lake Community College. The successful candidate will assist the head baseball coach with all aspects of a comprehensive, highly competitive college men's baseball program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the organization and management of the baseball program, including scheduling, scouting, travel arrangements, and monitoring student-athletes.
  • Maintain the grounds and facilities on and around the SLCC Baseball Diamond (Cate Field) to the highest standards of baseball facility standards, campus beautification, and safety.
  • Perform administrative and managerial tasks related to the assistant coach position, including consultation with the head coach and representation of SLCC in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Purchase, store, issue, and maintain equipment and supplies for the baseball program, and coordinate game and practice equipment needs.
  • Ensure the grounds and facilities are clean and maintained to SLCC standards, and perform regular and needed repairs and maintenance of field equipment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of baseball coaching experience in a high school or college setting.
  • Certified professional-level experience considered.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-4 years of baseball coaching experience in a college setting preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in baseball field maintenance/groundskeeping preferred.
