Job Overview

Are you dedicated to enhancing the relationship between dogs and their owners? Pawsitive Dawg Walking and Pet Sitting, LLC is seeking a skilled and passionate Certified Dog Trainer to contribute to our comprehensive Walk and Train services. This role involves providing insightful consultations to clients and mentoring our dog walking team members. Your expertise will play a vital role in fostering a compassionate and understanding environment for dogs and their families.

Key Qualifications:
  • Certification: A recognized certification in Dog Training (such as CPDT-KA, CPDT-KAS, or PCBC-A) is preferred. Candidates who are preparing for certification boards within the next six months are also encouraged to express their interest.
  • Experience: A minimum of three years of hands-on experience in dog training is required.
  • Fear Free Commitment: Candidates must either be Fear Free certified or be willing to obtain certification. Our dedication to a fear-free approach is fundamental to our operations.
  • Force-Free Philosophy: A strong commitment to and practice of force-free training methods is essential. We do not condone the use of force, aversives, or punitive measures.
  • Team Collaboration: A genuine love for working collaboratively within a team that values empathy, respect, and ongoing education is crucial.
  • Availability: Flexible scheduling is preferred, ideally on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays or Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 10 AM and 2 PM.
Compensation Package:
  • Weekly direct deposit payments.
  • Negotiable pay rate based on experience.
  • Compensation structure includes commission per service, mileage reimbursement, cell phone stipend, and 100% of tips.
  • Potential for supplemental income through additional pet sitting services.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver at least three years of dog training experience.
  • Comfortably walk dogs of various sizes for extended distances.
  • Provide Walk and Train services in diverse weather conditions.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from the team.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills when interacting with clients and management.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, reliability, self-motivation, and a positive demeanor.
  • Adhere to a schedule provided by management.
  • Offer dedicated attention and care to pets during visits.
  • Ensure the safety and control of all animals in your care.
  • Maintain the security of clients' homes during visits.
  • Properly dispose of pet waste during assignments.
  • Provide daily updates through our scheduling app, including photos.
Additional Requirements:
  • A genuine love for all dogs and cats.
  • A smartphone capable of text communication and app usage.
  • A reliable vehicle with a valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Proximity to our service area is necessary for efficient operations.
  • Four relevant references (three professional and one personal).
  • Commitment to being available for last-minute assignments during agreed hours.
  • Occasional evening or weekend availability for client meetings may be required.
  • A clean criminal background and driving record are mandatory.
