Position OverviewJoin our team in developing, advancing, and sustaining weapon systems for the U.S. Space Force and its mission partners. You will work with experienced personnel who understand the environments of ground, near-space, space, and systems operating in those environments to meet current and projected strategic, operational, and tactical needs for the Department of Defense.
We are seeking a Space System Engineer to provide expert insight, knowledge, and perspectives on the design and development of entire space systems, including subcomponents. The ideal candidate will have significant experience and expertise in multiple space operations and space control-related fields, including orbitology, navigation, sensor employment, communications, and command and control.
Responsibilities- Provide space system engineering and technical advice for projects and programs, as well as support program acquisition efforts for advanced technology, future concept development, and integration activities.
- Support the revision or drafting of JCIDS and acquisition documentation, such as Initial Capability Documents, Analysis of Alternatives, Concept of Operations, Technical/Systems Requirement Documents, Technical Evaluations, and System Specifications.
- Provide inputs and support on technical and/or programmatic status reporting of individual projects, programs, or portfolios.
- Identify areas of improvement with actionable, feasible recommendations and tasks for reducing risk where appropriate, as well as support risk identification, process definition, and detailed technical risk mitigation plans.
- Maintain awareness of current program schedule, monitor acquisition implementation, report requirement shortfalls, and provide program assessments based on identified risks.
- Advise the Government program manager on technical engagements, such as technical interchange meetings, design reviews, program conferences, and other informational meetings.
- Maintain a broad awareness and understanding of all programs and technology development efforts in execution across the applicable portfolio, as well as assist integrated product teams and working groups.
- Provide technical and operational insight to support mission protection, operations, and mission data assessments, as well as recommend viable solutions for technical anomalies.
- Extensive experience in the design and development of entire space systems, including subcomponents.
- Highly knowledgeable in multiple space operations and space control-related fields, including orbitology, navigation, sensor employment, communications, optimization, and command and control.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to identify and solve problems.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- TS/SCI Eligibility.
- Master's Degree.
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
