Job Title: PhD Biomechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD Biomechanical Engineer to join our Human Performance and Biomechanics team at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading research efforts in biomechanics, developing advanced protection solutions for the warfighter, and implementing innovative analysis/modeling techniques to better understand human injury risk.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and conduct experimental tests to analyze human injury risk
  • Develop and implement advanced protection solutions for the warfighter
  • Apply biomechanics principles to understand human injury risk and develop effective countermeasures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research findings into practical solutions
Qualifications:
  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, Engineering Science and Mechanics, or related discipline
  • Experience with biomechanics, anatomy, and physiology
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain a TS/SCI+poly security clearance
