Biomechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomechanical Engineer to join our team at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. As a Biomechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and conducting experimental tests, analyzing measured data, synthesizing data into actionable information, and reporting/presenting information to your team, external sponsors, and the research community.
Key Responsibilities- Design and conduct experimental tests to investigate human injury mechanisms and develop advanced protection solutions for the warfighter.
- Analyze measured data to identify trends and patterns, and synthesize data into actionable information to inform research and development decisions.
- Develop and implement numerical methods and associated mechanical modeling software to simulate human injury mechanisms and develop protection solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate biomechanics research into the development of advanced protection solutions.
- Present research findings to internal and external stakeholders, including government sponsors and the research community.
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, Engineering Science and Mechanics, or related discipline.
- Experience with mechanical sensors and data collection.
- Experience with statistics and experimental matrix design.
- Experience with data processing and visualization using MATLAB.
- Knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy, and physiology.
- Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain a TS/SCI+poly security clearance.
