Position Overview:

The Security Operations Specialist will deliver comprehensive industrial security assistance concerning all facets of governmental security obligations, including the upkeep of essential physical security standards for operational sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist personnel in preparing security clearance documentation using the Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP) and Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission (SWFT) systems to ensure adherence to compliance and facilitate processing for submission to the government.
  2. Act as the primary point of contact for the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and the Army Centralized Contracts and Security portal (ACCS). Must be adept at performing DISS responsibilities, which include initiating Personnel Security Investigations (PSI), generating PR Reports, processing employees and consultants, managing visit requests, interpreting personal summaries for eligibility and access, and submitting Clearance Status Requests (CSRs).
  3. Coordinate collateral personnel security clearance requirements with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).
  4. Manage additional security needs such as Special Accesses, polygraphs, Common Access Card (CAC), badge requests/renewals, special access nominations, indoctrinations, debriefings, and Counterintelligence pre-screening. This involves collaborating with government entities, subcontractors, Program Managers, and candidates to monitor progress and gather necessary documentation.
  5. Review prime contract DD254 for compliance and prepare subcontract DD254.
  6. Process incoming and outgoing Visit Requests for classified and uncleared visits.
  7. Maintain a database of cleared personnel, classified contracts, active consultants, subcontracting firms, and issued badges. Ensure personnel security files for cleared employees and consultants are current. Utilize various DoD databases/systems related to security processing (e.g., Access Commander, e-QIP, DISS, NISS).
  8. Respond as an on-call representative for all alarm activations within the facilities.
  9. Ensure accountability of classified documents entering or leaving the facility.
  10. Provide courier authorizations to employees and conduct briefings as necessary.
  11. Prepare reports and notifications to relevant government agencies as mandated by applicable regulations.
  12. Conduct Company Self Inspection Reviews and upload completed inspections to NISS.
  13. Keep senior management informed of any security vulnerabilities or potential issues.
  14. Coordinate all security requirements with the appropriate government agencies and engage with their security personnel to ensure the processing of requested actions.
  15. Serve as the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) for automated information systems that handle classified data. Assist in preparing Automated Information Systems by Risk Management Framework (RMF) and maintain a system to ensure compliance with government-specified operational standards.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required.
  • 2+ years of college education preferred.
  • 4+ years of combined security-related experience at the corporate level of a government contractor and government (civilian or military) security, preferably involving interaction with various government agencies in both collateral and SCI environments.
  • Additional relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • FSO Program Management Training for Possessing Facility.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines requiring quick turnaround.
  • Working knowledge of maintaining automated information systems.
  • 25% travel may be required.
  • Experience with standard computer software applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email), e.g., Microsoft Office.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent workflows and meeting competing deadlines that may require quick turnaround.
  • Practical experience in managing secure facilities (TS and below) under DCSA guidelines.
  • Experience with DISS and NISS.
  • Experience with ACCS is preferred.
