Position Overview

The Oncology Registered Nurse plays a vital role in the administration of essential therapies for patients in an ambulatory infusion setting. As part of Elevance Health, a leader in healthcare innovation, you will contribute to the delivery of life-enhancing infusible and injectable drug therapies.

Location:
West Houston, TX

Working Hours:
8am - 6pm, Hybrid schedule (Monday - Friday, with 1-2 days working from home)

Key Responsibilities

The Oncology Registered Nurse is responsible for:
  • Administering prescribed therapies in accordance with established protocols and standards.
  • Conducting thorough patient assessments and documenting findings accurately.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Educating patients and their families about treatment plans and expected outcomes.
  • Maintaining meticulous records of patient interactions and therapy responses.
  • Adhering to all relevant laws and regulations, including HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN or ADN) with at least 2 years of clinical experience.
  • Current, unrestricted RN license in Texas; multi-state licensure is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of IV experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • 3+ years of oncology nursing experience.
  • Certification from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) is a plus.
  • Completion of a Tuberculosis test and Hepatitis B vaccination or signed waiver is required.
