Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Newbridge Family Health in Woodfin. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing patient-centered care and supporting our healthcare team in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in daily huddles with the patient care team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Prepare patient charts for providers and review patient registries to identify preventative care needs.
  • Assist in preventive care outreach initiatives and obtain vitals as needed.
  • Perform screening procedures, prepare patients for exams, and assist providers during exams.
  • Prepare sterile fields, perform phlebotomy, and process specimens.
  • Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the provider.
  • Serve as a preceptor for new staff and provide occasional coverage support for other MAHEC ambulatory offices.
  • Assist with administrative duties, including handling calls and participating in process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Certification as a Certified Nurse Aide with experience working in a clinical setting.
  • Preferred qualifications include certification as a Medical Assistant through AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT, and one to two years of medical assisting experience in a primary care ambulatory setting.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
