Position Overview

As an integral member of the radiology team, the Advanced CT Technologist is responsible for executing comprehensive Computed Tomography (CT) examinations that assist Radiologists in diagnosing patient conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct CT imaging procedures with a high degree of technical proficiency, requiring minimal oversight.
  • Utilize independent judgment and creativity in performing a diverse range of technical procedures to facilitate accurate CT diagnoses.
  • Gather pertinent medical histories from patients to ensure thorough examination preparation.
  • Effectively position and transfer patients, employing necessary immobilization techniques prior to contrast media administration. Prepare and deliver contrast agents to optimize imaging quality.
  • Ensure that informed consent for contrast media is obtained prior to administration. Administer contrast agents as required.
  • Operate CT imaging equipment to produce high-quality scans while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain the operational efficiency of the CT scanner.
  • Process imaging films promptly and accurately, maintaining comprehensive documentation of records.
  • Develop individualized care plans to address the diagnostic needs of patients, coordinating with various departments, nursing staff, physicians, and visitors.
  • Assist Radiologists during specific examinations, preparing and administering necessary contrast agents for particular procedures.
  • Adhere to sterile techniques and maintain cleanliness in work areas, reporting any safety hazards.
  • Mentor student technologists during clinical training, demonstrating equipment operation and explaining examination processes.
  • Provide education on radiation safety to patients, visitors, physicians, and staff members.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and service with external service providers.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay current with industry standards and practices.

The ideal candidate will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care tailored to the developmental needs of patients. This includes:

  • Ability to gather and interpret information relevant to patient care.
  • Understanding of patient growth and development.
  • Awareness of the range of treatments required for diverse patient populations.

Competency Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate proficiency through initial orientation and ongoing competency assessments to independently perform assigned tasks and responsibilities.

Educational Requirements

  • Completion of a Post High School Diploma or Certificate Program in Radiologic Technology (Required).

Credentials:
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Required).
  • Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (Required).
  • Basic Life Support certification (Required).
