Job Summary

The Woodruff Arts Center is seeking a skilled Art Engagement Coordinator for Seniors to develop and implement arts programs for older adults. This is a grant-funded position that requires excellent research skills, strong facilitation and communication abilities, and a passion for creating inclusive experiences.

About the Position

This role involves conceiving and planning arts engagement programs for individuals at risk for or experiencing social isolation and/or loneliness. The successful candidate will work closely with the Assistant Director, Creative Aging and Lifelong Learning, and other internal and external stakeholders to execute 40-50 programs per year. Responsibilities include program development, implementation, research, and evaluation, as well as project administration and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement arts programs for older adults, including multi-week or monthly programs, discussion- or studio-based programs, tele/video conference programs, and physical mail-based programs.
  • Research national and international programs, initiatives, and studies related to reducing social isolation and loneliness in older adults, and create an annotated bibliography.
  • Co-create and coordinate comprehensive evaluation of pilot programs, including administering evaluation tools, compiling data, and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide essential administrative support for grant activities and general operations, including documentation, payment processes, expense tracking, grant reporting, attendance tracking, and regular communications with patrons and collaborators.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in art, humanities, or social sciences, or related field, or 4 years professional experience.
  • Experience planning and facilitating art-related programs for adults preferred.
  • Excellent research skills, particularly regarding art, art history, and the humanities.
  • Ability to engage people from multiple walks of life, to create and sustain inclusive welcome across all programs.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and customer service skills.
Benefits

This is a fixed-term, grant-funded position on-site at the museum in Atlanta, Georgia. The grant period runs through August 2026. Estimated salary: $45,000.
