We are seeking a skilled Teaching Artist to join our team as a Creative Arts Program Facilitator.
Job SummaryThis part-time, temporary position involves developing and facilitating engaging arts programs for diverse audiences, including PreK-12 students, adults, and older adults.
The successful candidate will work closely with our Learning and Civic Engagement department staff to design and deliver high-quality programs that promote audience-focused, accessible, and engaging experiences with art.
This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to think creatively and work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
Responsibilities- Program Development and Instruction: Develop and facilitate inquiry-based conversation programs about the High's collection and special exhibitions, working closely with Learning and Civic Engagement department staff.
- Professional Learning for Educators: Design and facilitate onsite professional learning seminars for PreK-12 educators, highlighting curricular connections between the museum's collections and special exhibitions and the classroom.
- Studio Workshop Development and Instruction: Co-develop, prepare for, and facilitate studio workshops for various audiences, researching museum collections and exhibitions, developing lesson plans, and providing technical instruction.
- Professional Development: Attend annual teaching intensive series and monthly professional development meetings to expand teaching skills and knowledge of museum audiences.
To be successful in this role, you should have a passion for arts education, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to think creatively and work collaboratively.
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field and experience in arts education or a related field are required. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of museum practices and procedures.
Salary and BenefitsThe estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $50,000 per year, based on 32 hours of work per week. This includes pay for program facilitation ($50/hour) and program research and development ($35/hour).
