Space Science Programmer

The Space Telescope Science Institute is seeking a highly skilled Space Science Programmer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with expertise in Python programming, astronomical data development, and collaborating with engineers and astronomers to develop applications and prepare for upcoming missions.
About the Role
The successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain software packages for accessing and discovering data from our archive of over 20 missions spanning more than 50 years. They will also collaborate with engineers and astronomers to develop applications and prepare for upcoming missions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Python packages for accessing and discovering data from our archive.
- Collaborate with engineers and astronomers to develop applications and prepare for upcoming missions.
- Develop user-facing documentation and Jupyter notebook tutorials on how to use these packages.
Benefits
- Estimated salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year.
