Job Summary

Ceres USD is seeking a qualified Physical Education Instructor to lead our Extended Day PE program for 5th and 6th-grade students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching physical education and creating a positive, educational environment for students.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement engaging physical education lessons for students.
  • Supervise students during physical education activities and ensure their safety.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress and outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Develop and implement instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
  • Provide a positive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in physical education and maintain professional competence.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow district procedures and practices.
  • Monitor the use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Support the goals of the district by participating in special committees and other groups.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Arts degree from an accredited college or university.
  • CA Multiple Subject Credential with supplementary PE authorization or CA Single Subject PE Credential.
  • Experience working with school-age children, preferably in a physical education setting.
Working Conditions

The work environment is typically moderate, with occasional loud noises. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds individually or with assistance.
