Job Summary

Ceres USD is seeking a qualified Physical Education Instructor to lead our Extended Day PE program for 5th and 6th-grade students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching physical education and creating a positive, educational environment for students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement engaging physical education lessons for students in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Supervise students during physical education activities and ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and physical growth.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in physical education and incorporate new ideas and strategies into instruction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum and instructional plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required.
Requirements
  • CA Multiple Subject Credential with supplementary PE authorization or CA Single Subject PE Credential.
  • Experience working with students in a physical education setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of physical education curriculum and instructional methods.
Working Conditions

The work environment is a typical school setting with moderate noise levels. The physical demands of the job include standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
