Position Overview:

The Licensed Nursing Professional (LNP) is tasked with delivering and documenting proficient nursing care as per the individualized care plan established for each patient, adhering to the directives of the attending physician. The LNP is also accountable for providing services as specified by contractual obligations and/or program requirements, under the guidance of a designated clinical supervisor. Services are rendered in alignment with Maxim Healthcare Services' core values, standards, and policies.

Key Responsibilities:


• Conducts regular assessments and evaluations of patient nursing requirements


• Employs the nursing process to strategize, execute, and assess patient/client care and/or services for clients receiving contracted care, as necessary


• Initiates care plans upon direction and requests necessary adjustments from the prescriber as patient conditions evolve


• Integrates therapeutic, preventive, and rehabilitative nursing interventions based on patient diagnoses and established objectives


• Responds to changes in patient/client conditions and reports significant alterations to the appropriate physician or supervisor


• Administers prescribed medications and treatments, while monitoring and documenting the effectiveness of interventions


• Ensures patient/client safety at all times


• Oversees the safety and efficacy of the care/services environment and equipment utilized, including adherence to universal precautions


• Reviews care plans and program protocols, identifying areas for healthcare education, care coordination, goal setting, and discharge planning needs, as applicable


• Documents all physician collaboration and care coordination in the medical record, communicating this information as required


• Complies with the following professional practice standards:

  1. Nurse Practice Act
  2. Standards of Nursing Practice
  3. Standards of Patient Care
  4. Standards of Accrediting Body
  5. State and Local Laws
  6. Patient Bill of Rights
  7. Policies and procedures of contracted customers
  8. Adheres to Maxim policy, procedure, and applicable protocols
  9. Participates in case conferences, team meetings, and educational in-services, as required
  10. Performs additional duties as assigned or necessary

Minimum Qualifications:


• Graduate of an accredited nursing program preferred


• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the relevant state required


• Adheres to accepted professional standards and practices


• One year of prior professional nursing experience preferred


• Current CPR certification, as applicable, for direct patient care


• PPD or chest x-ray as required


• Successful completion of Maxim Orientation and Compliance training, along with all other assigned training as applicable required


• Successful completion of Maxim's Competency Program


• Proficiency in the English language required


• Current Health Certificate (as per facility contract or state regulation) required


• Must fulfill all federal, state, local, and contract requirements

Compliance and Ethical Standards:


• Engages in and successfully completes the company's compliance program requirements and adheres to the Code of Conduct, company policies, and applicable federal and state regulations


• Serves as a role model for other employees regarding the application and observance of the Company's Code of Conduct and Compliance Program in daily interactions with customers, business operations, or team members


• Reports potential violations of company policy, Code of Conduct, and/or applicable laws and regulations through the company hotline, chain of command, Compliance and Ethics Department, or other available reporting channels


• Fosters an environment where employees feel encouraged to report potential compliance violations


• Provides input and suggestions for improving policies, procedures, workflows, and/or controls to enhance compliance
