UCHealth is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Responsibilities
  • Perform echocardiography procedures on patients, selecting and using transducers according to anatomy, differentiating normal and abnormal structures, and ensuring sufficient information has been acquired to provide diagnosis.
  • Review patient history and physician's orders, educating patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice, monitoring patient condition and reporting changes in status.
  • Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment, troubleshooting, resolving, and/or reporting equipment malfunctions.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, utilizing critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Registered Sonographer certification
  • Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Minimum education: Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program
  • State licensure if required by law
