We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS). As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate patient needs and provide appropriate respiratory care services, including oxygen therapy, ventilation, and aerosol therapy.
- Conduct physical assessments, review patient history, and interact with physicians to determine the best course of treatment.
- Perform and document diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ensuring adherence to departmental standards and quality indicators.
- Troubleshoot respiratory equipment and maintain accurate records of patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program from an American Medical Association (AMA) program.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care, Inc. (NBRC).
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license from the Texas Department of State Health Services or Texas Medical Board.
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR course completion card.
- Preferred certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care, Inc. (NBRC).
