Job Title: Laboratory Assistant

About the Job:

The Laboratory Assistant at Orlando Health is a critical member of our laboratory team, responsible for performing various duties such as specimen receiving and processing, patient registration, and maintaining department supplies. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of laboratory procedures.

Main Tasks:

  • Patient Registration: Accurately registers patients in the laboratory information system.
  • Specimen Processing: Handles and processes specimens according to established protocols.
  • Supply Management: Maintains departmental supplies and ensures adequate inventory levels.
  • Quality Control: Assists in maintaining quality control standards, adhering to regulations and guidelines.
  • Training and Development: Provides training to new staff members on laboratory procedures and equipment operation.

Requirements and Benefits:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Two (2) years of laboratory experience or patient care experience.
  • Current student seeking higher educational degree or certification in a science field may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience.
  • Estimated Salary: $50,000 - $70,000 per year.
  • Flexible Schedules.
  • Tuition Reimbursement up to $5,000 a year.
  • Benefits Package that begins on day one (Full-Time & Part-Time only).
