Construction Management Operations Director

We are seeking an experienced hands-on leader that possesses the demonstrated skills to drive the successful performance and delivery of our growing Construction Management/Engineering firm in Mineola, NY. As the Operations Manager, you will have the ability to effectively run the day-to-day operations of our growing CM/Engineering firm while ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead, motivate, and support a small team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including career development plans for direct reports and problem resolution.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations, projects, and systems to carry out Laland Baptiste's goals and objectives.
  • Customer Service and Relationship Building: Maintain and increase the efficiency of the business by building and maintaining business relationships with current and potential clients.
  • Department Oversight: Lead all departments within the company.
  • Hiring, Training, and Employee Development: Supervise, hire, and train employees, manage quality assurance programs, and strategize process improvements.
  • Customer Delight: Deliver customer service excellence.
  • Budgeting and Cost Management: Conduct budget development and reviews and report cost plans to upper management.
  • Performance Monitoring and Improvement: Monitor employee performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions.
  • Organizational Efficiency: Evaluate the organization's structures and procedures such as decision-making regarding increasing market capitalization.
  • Representation and External Communication: Represent Laland Baptiste at events and media appearances.
  • Negotiation and Conflict Resolution: Assess and negotiate differences both internally and externally to promote our core company philosophy and standards.
  • Presentation and Public Speaking: Create and oversee informative presentations; present and deliver information to potential clients at client meetings, industry exhibits, trade shows, conferences, etc.
  • Database Management: Maintain a database of prospective client information.
  • Marketing Support: Assist with the creation of marketing material for events and proposals and supervise/review technical proposals.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in operations management, business administration, or related field.
  • Communication Skills: Superior communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Experience: Five or more years of proven success in an Operations Management role in a Construction or Engineer firm.
  • Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of management software programs and proficient IT skills, including database development, and all Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Keen ability to communicate important policy and process changes to a broad/diversified team.

Compensation Package: The estimated salary range for this position is up to $120K base salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, the package includes a comprehensive benefits program, including medical/prescription plan, dental/vision plan, life insurance, short/long term disability plan, flexible spending accounts, 401K, vacation/holiday/personal days, sick leave, and continuing education opportunities through Baptiste University.
