About the Role

The Materials Research Society is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Meetings Program Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our Programs Department, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and execution of our technical programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Program Development: Assist in the development and maintenance of our abstract database, ensuring accurate and timely information for symposium organizers and attendees.
  • Communication and Coordination: Communicate with symposium organizers, authors, and staff to resolve programming and abstract issues, and maintain a master copy of the program.
  • Program Management: Enter program information into the database, notify organizers and authors of program changes and withdrawals, and manage the meetings information email inbox.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Compile post-meeting reports and provide data-driven insights to inform future program development.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Programs Department, including tasks such as data entry, document preparation, and filing.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Associate's degree or equivalent experience with three to five years' work experience in a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Excel and database management, with excellent typing skills and ability to learn new software applications.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including symposium organizers, authors, and staff.
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Ability to handle multiple priorities, adjust to changing situations, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
