Job Overview

The Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in managing purchasing operations in collaboration with production control, manufacturing, and engineering teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of inventory. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects of the products being procured.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily inventory management for assigned products.
  • Process MRP outputs efficiently to support demand through timely Planned Orders.
  • Monitor work order shortages and expedite material procurement as necessary.
  • Adjust and expedite production and service material purchase orders to meet delivery targets.
  • Follow up on purchase orders and quotes for production materials, preparing comparative analysis documentation.
  • Initiate and manage supplier date changes, addressing issues through appropriate channels to ensure timely material delivery.
  • Assist in the prompt resolution of non-conforming materials from assigned suppliers.
  • Communicate supplier performance metrics, particularly focusing on On-Time Delivery and Quality, including conducting supplier visits as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred certifications: APICS CPIM and/or CPP.
  • Proven expertise in purchasing, scheduling, material requirements planning, and inventory management.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Proficient in conflict resolution, managing disputes in a fair and effective manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards.
  • Experience with Oracle EBS and/or Oracle Cloud is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Background in high-tech manufacturing with a focus on mechanical commodities and supplier management.
  • Familiarity with Lean principles and Kanban methodologies.
