About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Youth Development Professional to join our team in Thomson, Georgia. This part-time position requires working Monday through Friday, 2:00PM to 7:00PM, with occasional weekend hours as needed.

Job Description

The Youth Development Professional will be an integral part of our program team, responsible for establishing weekly/monthly programs calendars consistent with our organizational goals and mission. Key roles and essential job responsibilities include:

  • Program Planning: Develop a schedule of programs that will be presented at the site for the week and month, ensuring members are encouraged to participate in various activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program areas.
  • Member Engagement: Create an environment that promotes and stimulates program participation, registering new members and participating in their club orientation, providing guidance and role modeling to members, and effectively implementing and administering programs, services, and activities for drop-in members.
  • Safety and Evaluation: Monitor services and activities to ensure the safety of members and maintain the appearance of the facility, evaluating programs on a continual basis, and ensuring programs/activities respond to members' needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required; combined experience and/or formal training equivalent to a minimum of 2 years is preferred.
  • Knowledge of youth development, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to motivate youth, and manage behavior problems are essential.
  • The ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth, organize and supervise members in a safe environment, handle interactions with the public, and provide science and technology programs for children ages 5-8, 9-12, and 13-18 is required.
