About This Role:

Kansas State University seeks a skilled Maintenance and Repair Technician II to provide general maintenance and repair services through effective facility management processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing work orders, performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, and ensuring the upkeep of university buildings.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building maintenance, including carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. They will also possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on university buildings and facilities
  • Manage work orders and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion
  • Operate and maintain various tools and equipment, including power tools and hand tools
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless facility operations
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and prevent equipment failures
Requirements:
  • 1 year of relevant experience in building maintenance or a related field
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate university vehicles
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and work at heights
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field
  • Knowledge of electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and plumbing systems
  • Skilled experience in operating and maintaining power tools and equipment
