We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in collecting and processing patient samples for testing, ensuring accurate and timely results.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and process patient samples for testing, including phlebotomy procedures, venous and capillary punctures, and urine collections.
- Enter patient demographic and test ordering details into multiple computer systems, adhering to compliance guidelines.
- Prepare and package samples for delivery to testing labs, ensuring accurate and timely results.
- Provide guidance and training to new employees and students on department procedures and policies.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, with completion of a phlebotomy course and internship in a clinical lab setting.
- Two years of recent related work experience in a clinical laboratory setting, phlebotomy clinic, or Patient Service Center.
- Current Washington State certification as a Medical Assistant or Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist, or National registration with ASCP in Phlebotomy.
