PostgreSQL Database Administrator

Job Title: Software Database Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Database Engineer to join our team at Diverse Lynx LLC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale databases using PostgreSQL and AWS RDS.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement efficient database architectures using PostgreSQL and AWS RDS
• Develop and maintain high-performance database applications using SQL and other programming languages
• Ensure database security and integrity through regular backups, monitoring, and maintenance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize database requirements
• Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and best practices

Requirements:

• 10-12 years of experience in managing Postgres databases (EDB Eco system)
• 5 years of experience in cloud-based databases, preferably AWS, with expertise in RDS services, security policy, user authentication, IAM, and database administration
• Hands-on experience with Open-source Database platforms, PostgreSQL, and AWS RDS
• Strong understanding of database design principles, query optimization, index management, integrity checks, statistics, and isolation levels
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to evaluate alternative solutions and/or workarounds
• Strong analytical and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with message queuing, full-text indexing, and other high-performance data concepts
• Experience with AWS environment management and knowledge of different tools for the same
• Experience with Postgres SQL migration approach from on-prem to AWS and vice versa
• Advanced understanding of Linux OS and use of SSH to connect to remote systems
• Hands-on experience with Jira, GitHub, Ansible, and Terraform

Physical Requirements:

• Sitting for extended periods of time
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse
• Physically able to participate and lead training sessions, presentations, and/or meetings

Educational Background:

Grad from CS/EE or Eng. Equivalent
