Patient Access Coordinator

Job Summary
This role serves as the initial point of contact for patients at Franklin Hospital, requiring exceptional customer service skills in all interactions. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate patient registration, insurance verification, medical necessity validation, and collecting amounts due from patients. Additionally, they will enter orders, provide an efficient flow of clinical, administrative, and clerical tasks, and obtain patient signatures on consent and assignment forms. The ideal candidate will be competent, flexible, and adaptive to changes in healthcare delivery and technology.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: High school graduate preferred.
- License/Certifications: N/A
- Experience: Previous clerical healthcare experience preferred, with previous customer service experience required.
- Must complete a formal medical terminology course and customer service training within 1 year after hire.
- Knowledge of insurance plans and their requirements is desired.
- Good interpersonal skills are required, with the ability to interact with patients and others in a courteous, tactful, and effective manner.
- Strong command of the English language is necessary, with the ability to speak and write clearly.
- Ability to use a personal computer for online data entry is required.
