Position Overview

Family Medicine Associates of Conroe is dedicated to providing holistic healthcare services from infancy to senior care. Our mission is to enhance the quality of family medicine by fostering a friendly, inviting, and patient-focused atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Interaction: Welcome and guide patients to examination areas. Prepare and assist patients for assessments; collect urine samples, monitor vital signs, document symptoms, concerns, and medications, and prepare for laboratory tests and procedures.
  • Telephone Assessment: Assess incoming calls for urgent situations and prioritize accordingly. Record all communications in the electronic medical record system. Prepare prescriptions for physician approval. Review and prioritize laboratory results with the physician; inform patients of outcomes via phone or mail, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Additional Tasks: Organize patient charts for the upcoming day. Support the physician with patient communications and liaise with other healthcare providers. Maintain cleanliness and restock examination rooms with necessary supplies and sterile instruments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 months experience as a Certified Medical Assistant
  • Experience with Athena EMR for at least 6 months
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant
  • Consistent transportation to the designated area
  • Dependable means of travel
  • Strong support network

Work Schedule:

  • 8-hour shifts
  • Daytime hours, Monday through Friday
  • Occasional Saturday shifts every six weeks
