Financial Aid and Compliance Director

The Director of Financial Aid and Compliance oversees the daily operations and staff within the Office of Financial Aid. This position is responsible for providing financial aid educational workshops and counseling to proactively mitigate the lack of understanding of current financial aid regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Regulatory Compliance: Monitors regulatory and administrative requirements for Title IV federal student aid programs, identifies regulatory changes, and briefs department administration on recently adopted regulations.
- Policy Development: Creates and coordinates an internal policies and procedures manual for each function within the Financial Aid Department, updates, and communicates changes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Technology Management: Works with department administration to ensure the Ellucian Colleague system is configured in a manner that is compliant with federal, state, and institutional regulations, conducts audits of data and systems to ensure integrity, and serves as the central contact for trouble-shooting technology and operational issues.
- Maintenance of Compliance: Establishes monitoring and reviewing controls to ensure adherence by staff to the code of federal regulations with respect to Title IV federal student aid and state regulations regarding state financial aid programs.
This role also includes:
- Developing and ensuring federal and state compliant content for our financial aid website;
- Assisting in the coordination of relevancy, usefulness, and accuracy of information on College websites related to financial aid;
- Ensuring overall compliance with federal consumer protection and disclosure requirements;
- Providing staff training on state and federal financial aid regulations;
- Resolving reporting discrepancies, analyzing data sets, and providing analytical/operational reports to improve efficiencies;
- Assisting with developing, implementing, and maintaining multiple levels of proactive internal quality control mechanisms to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and institutional policies and/or regulations;
- Participating in professional organizations and collaborating with state affinity groups, regional, and national organizations to stay abreast of all regulatory changes.

Salary and BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary range of $95,000-$110,000 annually, along with benefits including NJ Educators Health Plan with free Vision and Dental, NJ State Pension plan, 23 vacation days, 15 sick days, 4 personal days, 2 floating holidays, all designated holidays, and 5 non-designated holidays a year, and 3 partial sick days.
