Payroll Clerk Specialist

VitalCore Health Strategies, a leading provider of Correctional Health Care services, is seeking an experienced Payroll Clerk to join their team at the Massachusetts Regional Office in Hopkinton, MA.

The estimated annual salary for this position ranges between $55,000 and $65,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for processing weekly payroll, maintaining employee time records, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Key responsibilities include:

• Entering, maintaining, and/or processing information in the payroll system, including employees' hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses, or other compensation, time worked, paid leave, and holidays.
• Ensuring proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
• Reconciling payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.
• Issuing, or reissuing, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
• Recording and processing federal and state payroll tax deposits.

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with ADP.
• At least two years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, with a preference for those with six months or more of experience in payroll.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Ability to quickly learn payroll software.
