Casa of Hobart is seeking a skilled and experienced Nursing Supervisor to oversee the weekend nursing shifts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of care for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify daily staffing and redistribute as necessary to ensure adequate coverage.
- Collaborate with charge nurses to exchange information regarding customer care, condition, and well-being.
- Make rounds to provide special attention to critically ill residents.
- Ensure individual nursing care plans are followed for each resident.
- Perform medication passes and direct resident care as needed.
- Participate in customer care committee meetings.
- Reinforce training and orientation of nursing personnel.
- Answer emergencies and provide support as needed.
- Assure a safe and sanitary environment for residents, employees, and visitors.
- Review incident and investigative reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor meal service to identify issues requiring intervention.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the nursing center Q.I. program.
- Put customer service first by ensuring residents and families receive the highest quality of service.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse licensure within the state.
- Experience in the nursing field, especially in geriatric nursing.
- Supervisory experience in long-term care is preferred.
Job Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of nursing theory, techniques, and practices.
- Knowledge of dietetics, sanitation, and personal hygiene.
- Knowledge of medications, their proper dosage, and expected results.
- Ability to coordinate and supervise nursing functions effectively.
- Empathetic attitude toward residents and ability to gain their confidence.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions of a technical nature.
- Ability to recognize symptoms and make decisions quickly in emergencies.
- Ability to train subordinates in work procedures and organize training.
- Ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
