Job SummaryThe Senior Quality Director will lead the development and implementation of our food safety strategy, providing leadership to T. Marzetti Quality teams in manufacturing and warehouse locations. This role will assess risk, drive continuous improvement, and set and maintain the strategy for food safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Operations and Food Safety leaders to execute programs and policies ensuring safe and high-quality food products.
- Lead quality systems, predictive quality, reporting, sanitation, microbiology, internal audit, and customer-facing initiatives.
- Develop and coach Food Safety & Quality Managers at manufacturing sites to deliver products meeting customer and regulatory requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal food safety regulations, ensuring compliance with these standards.
- Oversee internal audit processes, closure of corrective actions, and readiness for external audits and compliance to regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to establish and maintain quality and safety standards for incoming ingredients and materials.
- Develop and coach teams to educate employees on quality and food safety protocols and best practices.
- Work closely with teams to develop and implement systems for handling food safety incidents and product recalls.
- Responsible for analyzing and sharing data to decrease risk, defects, and improve efficiencies and customer experience.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvements and cost savings while maintaining product quality and safety.
- Work closely with sanitation, R&D, supply chain, and regulatory teams to ensure alignment on quality objectives.
- Monitor quality and safety performance and lead action/resolution planning across assigned facilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or related science field.
- Progressive experience in quality within the food industry, with manufacturing production/operations experience desired.
- 10-15 years of supervisory/management experience, including previous experience leading and developing managers and teams.
- Previous experience working in a food manufacturing facility.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards.
- Knowledge and/or certification in FSMA, HAACP, GFSI, PCQI.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach, with ability to build strong relationships and influence others.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate data and make sound decisions.
- Experience with SAP preferred.
