Job Title: Failure Analysis & Reliability Engineer - Electronics Manufacturing

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Failure Analysis & Reliability Engineer to join our team in Electronics Manufacturing. As a key member of our Quality team, you will be responsible for investigating product failures, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. This role involves conducting detailed analyses of defective products, collaborating with design and process engineering teams, and providing recommendations for improving product reliability and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough investigations of failed products to determine the root cause of failure using various analytical tools and techniques (e.g., SEM, X-ray, optical microscopy).
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on failures to identify underlying issues in materials, design, process, or usage that led to the failure.
• Work closely with design, process, and quality teams to develop and implement corrective actions based on failure analysis findings. Ensure that corrective actions are effective in preventing future failures.
• Prepare detailed reports documenting failure analysis results, including methods used, findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Maintain records of all failure analysis activities.
• Identify trends and recurring issues through analysis of failure data. Propose and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and reduce failure rates.
• Provide technical support and failure analysis services to customers, including explaining the root cause of failures and recommended corrective actions.
• Design and execute tests to replicate failure modes and validate corrective actions. Use advanced analytical tools to characterize material properties and failure mechanisms.
• Collaborate with various teams including R&D, process engineering, quality assurance, and manufacturing to share insights from failure analyses and contribute to product development and improvement efforts.
• Ensure that all failure analysis activities comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in failure analysis, quality engineering, or a related role in manufacturing or product development.
• Hands-on experience with failure analysis tools and techniques (e.g., SEM, EDS, FTIR, X-ray, FIB).
• Experience in industries such as semiconductor, electronics, automotive, or aerospace is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct detailed investigations.
• Proficiency in data analysis and root cause analysis methods (e.g., 8D, FMEA, 5 Whys).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of reliability engineering principles and practices.
• Experience with advanced failure analysis techniques (e.g., TEM, SIMS, AFM).
• Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF).
• Lean Six Sigma certification.

What We Offer:

The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary, bonus, tuition reimbursement, 401K match, PTO, health, dental, and vision benefits.
