Reports to: Kitchen Leader/Manager on Duty

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for stocking, preparing, and cooking food items in accordance with Wings Etc. standards while adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations.



DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain cleanliness of food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
  • Adhere to Wings Etc. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for food orders, managing multiple orders simultaneously.
  • Ensure sanitation, health, and safety standards are upheld in all work areas.
  • Accurately measure ingredients for specific dishes as per Wings Etc. SOP.
  • Operate large-scale cooking equipment including grills, deep fryers, and griddles.
  • Interpret food orders from printed tickets, Kitchen Video Systems, or verbal instructions from servers, bartenders, or managers, and prepare food accordingly.
  • Confirm that prepared dishes meet quality and quantity standards.
  • Wash, chop, and prepare ingredients designated for cooking.
  • Clean, stock, and replenish workstations and display cases.
  • Control cooking temperatures for ovens, flattops, fryers, grills, and roasters.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Communication Skills:
Effective communication is essential in a kitchen environment.

You must be able to read orders, comprehend instructions from the head chef, and collaborate with fellow cooks to ensure timely and delicious food delivery.

Hand-Eye Coordination:
Proficient cooking requires excellent knife skills and awareness of potential hazards. A steady hand is crucial.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and/or certification.
Stamina:
Kitchen work can be demanding and lengthy.

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) is necessary.

Teamwork:

Collaboration is key to providing an exceptional dining experience for customers.
